Oh, my!

I'm blessed with an abundance of awesome families to photograph.  This bunch is no exception.  Just the sweetest little family!  Enjoy...

Kalie...

Kalie.  Wow.  I have known Kalie for, hmmm....at least seven years.  And, in that seven years, she has grown into a BEAUTIFUL young woman.  I haven't seen her in awhile, and when we booked her senior picture session, I totally expected this little 10-11 year-old little girl to show up.  Time always surprises me.  But, I wasn't surprised at all at how sweet, gracious, and beautiful Kalie is as a young woman.  Her very proud parents have every right to be just that....proud.

Beautiful distraction...

There's a fine line between what we think we need to get done, and what we as moms, really need to get done.  I struggle with this constant-freakin'-ly!  I get in my head all these things that just must be done in order for the universe to continue to move in it's God-given course.  As if, my little obsessive compulsive monsters could in any way alter the course of humanity.

Yes.  I must edit these sessions.  Yes.  I must read this chapter.  Yes.  The dishes have sat there all day long.  Yes.  The carpet would be LESS hospitable to all those little dust mites that seem to make our sinuses explode, if I were to clean it RIGHT NOW.  Yes.  The world may just possibly end if I do not get those footprints off the unscrubable walls painted with flat-what-was-I-thinking paint!  Yes.  Yes.  Yes.  Don't even tell me it is all untrue.  Don't.  Stop.  You know you're about to.

Because I already know.  I know that the footprints will come off the wall just as well next week.  The carpet is important, but so is my family.  I have gotten so caught up in all the minutia of life, that I looked up and Brady-Lady is nearly grown!  She comes in from school, hugs me, and I can no longer smell her hair under my nose.  No.  She is nearly staring me in the face!  Morgan doesn't even always come home from school.  No, she has a job and friends and church.

So, today I'm trying to get a bunch done before we head to the lake.  And, of course, Peanut is not helping.  But, that's okay.  It will all get done.  And, in the meantime...I get to play with this beautiful distraction.  Have a safe, fun, Labor Day Weekend.

Kim
